Colored Spreadsheets Using Conditional Formatting

I was playing around with conditionally formatted spreadsheets in Excel, and made some simple colored patterns. One of them was produced by adding 1 all the way down the first column, then in each row adding 1 to the cell left of it. This was the result:

An easing gradient of red to yellow to green

I also tried an exponential sequence – like the last one, but instead of adding 1, I multiplied by 1.1. After conditionally formatting the numbers with the same color range, this happened:

A gradient of red to yellow to green

It seemed to have a slightly sharper gradient. Matt Parker from the YouTube channel standupmaths used conditional formatting to make a picture of himself in Excel. Spreadsheets really are amazing.
